Bereits wenige Tage nach den Angriffen der Hamas auf Israel lud ConAct Fachkräfte im Deutsch-Israelischen Jugendaustausch zu einer aktuellen Stunde mit Partner*innen vom Verband der Israelischen Jugendbewegungen ein. Hierbei wurden der Bedarf und das Interesse deutlich, in dieser Krisenzeit im engen Austausch miteinander zu stehen und Stimmen aus Israel zu hören. Der Wunsch war und ist, möglichst nah an den Entwicklungen vor Ort zu sein und den Kontakt zu den Partner*innen und Freund*innen in Israel bewusst aufrechterhalten. In dieser seither zumeist digitalen Gesprächsreihe lädt ConAct Menschen aus Jugendarbeit und Gesellschaft aus Israel ein, aktuelle Entwicklungen und Bedeutungszusammenhänge aus ihrer Perspektive zu schildern. 

Am Abend des 23. Januars 2024 fand im Rahmen eines bilateralen Arbeitstreffens in Berlin eine Gesprächsrunde in Präsenz statt. Sprecher*innen waren Tal Madar vom Council of Youth Movements in Israel, Tlalit Kitzoni, eine Augenzeugin der Terrorangriffe der Hamas am 7. Okotber 2023 aus Kfar Aza, George Stevens von HaNoar HaOved WeHalomed – The Working and Studying Youth, Dr. Etti Isler von The Israel Federation of Community Centers und Elia Morgulev vom Kaye Academic College of Education. Sie berichteten darüber, wie sie die Terrorangriffe des 7. Oktobers erlebt haben, welche Rolle die Zivilgesellschaft und die Jugendbewegungen bei der Bewältigung dieser Krise spielen und wie sie in die Zukunft schauen.

After the Attack on Israel – Voices From Youth Work and Society

On the evening of January 23, 2024, a round of talks was held as part of a bilateral working meeting in Berlin

Just a few days after the Hamas attacks on Israel, ConAct invited experts in German-Israeli youth exchange to a one-hour discussion with partners from the Association of Israeli Youth Movements. Here, the need and interest to be in close contact with each other in this time of crisis and to hear voices from Israel became clear. The desire was and is to be as close as possible to developments on the ground and to consciously maintain contact with partners and friends in Israel. In this series of talks, which has since been held mostly digital, ConAct invites people from youth work and society from Israel to describe current developments and relevant contexts from their perspective.

On the evening of January 23, 2024, a roundtable discussion was held in presence as part of a bilateral working meeting in Berlin. The speakers were Tal Madar from the Council of Youth Movements in Israel, Tlalit Kitzoni, an eyewitness to the Hamas terror attacks on 7 October 2023 from Kfar Aza, George Stevens from Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed – The Working and Studying Youth, Dr. Etti Isler from The Israel Federation of Community Centers and Elia Morgulev from Kaye Academic College of Education. They talked about how they experienced the terrorist attacks of October 7, the role of civil society and youth movements in overcoming this crisis and how they look towards the future.
