„Junge Lebenswelten in Israel“
|
Teil 1: 10.-15.

We are still fulfilled by the experiences of the second part of the German-Israeli Youth Congress, which took place in Israel in November. Once again, gathered together 200 young people from Germany and Israel. The anniversary year of 2015 which marks 50 years of diplomatic relations and 60 years of youth contacts is coming to an end. We have experienced a year which was rich in shared projects, moving encounters, interesting publications and a great variety of events in both countries. Once again it became obvious, which great contribution the work for encounters of young people from Germany and Israel has made for the approaching and bonding between both countries.
We are grateful for all ideas, support and contributions made by the different youth movements, youth organizations, representatives and young people for the projects of ConAct and the Israel Youth Exchange Authority this year. We would like to thank the Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth for the intensive cooperation and support of the special activities in 2015. Thank you very much!
We are sending out good wishes for illuminated winter days and good times with your families and friends. We are looking forward to next shared activities and inspiring encounters in 2016!
Best wishes – Happy Christmas – Chag Sameach – Happy New Year!
Your ConAct-team
In May 2015 about 300 young people from Israel and Germany gathered in Berlin to discuss topics and experiences in the anniversary year of German-Israeli diplomatic relations and youth exchange. Six months later they met in Israel again to extand to the first part. The discussions on experiences, successes and challenges of Israeli-German relations and encounters in the past, present and future have been continued. The same organizations and participants were invited for this working process to deal with the topics “Understanding Diverse Life Realities”, “Living with History” and “Creating and Forming Society” through different event formats. For a deeper insight and more background stories about the congress, please visit our blog youth-congress-2015.org. On the ConAct-Website you will find a big collection of pictures. |
The German-Israeli Youth Exchange is being acknowledged as a central, outstanding and future orientated part of Israeli-German relations – thanks to the many projects, which were performed and made visible during the anniversary year of diplomatic relations in 2015. They especially can be seen as an expression of close connectedness and intensive cooperation. The members of the Mixed Commission honored the important work being realized by organizations in Israel and Germany on their annual meeting, which took place in Köln on November 30 - December 3, 2015. About 330 exchange programs between young people and professionals in the field of international youth work shall be provided with funding by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth in 2016. The meeting of the Mixed Commission focused on the topic of diversity and democracy building educational processes among young people, as important topics of youth policy in both countries. For the upcoming year it was agreed to deepen this topic within the frame of a number of shared projects for professionals of youth work and youth exchange from both countries. The representatives of the Federal Ministry for Youth and the Israel Youth Exchange Authority expressed their respect for the manifold and important work being done in the youth exchange, supported by ConAct and the Israel Youth Exchange Authority, and wished good luck for the programs in 2016. |
22 young educators from civil society and youth work took part in the study trip "Young lifestyles in Israel" led from 8 to 20 November, 2015. The Federal Agency for Civic Education and ConAct have offered for several years joint study trips. In conversations and encounters with mostly young people from different sectors of Israeli society, the participants got to know many different experiences and ideas of the younger generation about the future of Israel. |
The working group Israel/Middle East of the Association of Christian Girl Guides and Boy Scouts (Verband Christlicher Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder – VCP) invited ConAct to participate in a meeting of representatives of the VCP and its Israeli partner associations on November 8, 2015 in Munich. In the year of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel the head-delegates of different scouts associations met in order to maintain and expand contacts, to develop new partnership and to plan future projects. ConAct presented the projects of the past year as well as the new released publications on German-Israeli Youth Exchange. |
Part 1: April 10 to 15, 2016 in Israel ConAct and the Israel Youth Exchange Authority invite to the New Con-T-Acts Match Making Seminar in order to continue the process of establishing new partnerships between German and Israeli organizations for youth projects and the exchange of professionals. During the two-part seminar, the German-Israeli partner organizations which have been “matched” beforehand according to their wishes are brought together. The seminar aims at getting to know each other and to start with planning first encounter projects. By informing about the contents, financial support for and a pedagogical structuring of the exchange programs, we want to facilitate the first steps in planning. Are you interested or do you know other organizations who want to establish new German-Israeli contacts? We appreciate your interest or a reference to possibly interested organizations! Please contact ConAct or the Israel Youth Exchange Authority. |
After one year we said goodbye to our two volunteers Manoël Johr and Alon Spitzer. Both of them played an active part in the work of ConAct and gave support at seminars, information desks, researches and especially during the projects of the German-Israeli anniversary year. We give thanks to both of them for their great work and wish them all the best for the next stages of life! We welcome again two new volunteers at ConAct: Paul Baier started his service on September 1, 2015. We are happy that with Or Goren again we are supported by a volunteer from Israel. Since October 1, 2015, Or works at the ConAct office and at a youth center in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In October Katharina Schubert has returned to ConAct. She has taken over a new area of responsibility and will be working in the project “Living Diversity in Germany and Israel“.

After the exhibition has been successfully opened in mid-October 2015 at the Paul-Löbe-Haus of the German Bundestag, it is now going on tour. While the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel gave the occasion to the exhibition, the photos, letters, personal stories and historical events point beyond it. A special focus is given to the commitment of civil society agents from art and culture, media, business, politics and sport. The extensive website enables those who will not be able to visit one of the many tour locations to gain an insight into the diverse German-Israeli relations. For all tour dates and locations in Israel and Germany as well as for further information visit the website www.israelis-und-deutsche.de/en/tour/. |
